Aluu4: Police arrest mastermind of UNIPORT students’ murder

by Isi Esene
The Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of the alleged mastermind of the killing of the four UNIPORT students murdered in the Aluu community in Rivers State.
The suspect’s name was given as Coxson Lerebori Lucky, also known as, Bright.
Lucky was declared wanted immediately after the four students, Ugonna Obuzor, 18; Lloyd Toku, 19; Tekena Elkanah, 20, and Chiadika Biringa, 20, were killed.
The students were accused of stealing laptops and smartphones, an allegation which has been declared untrue by the police authorities.
According to reports, the arrested suspect allegedly raised the false alarm which led to the mob action and eventual murder of the students.
The police authorities, through Frank Mba, the police public relations officer, had earlier on Monday announced the arrest of four key suspects who were identified from the widely circulated video clip of the killing.
The suspects named were Felomo Solomon, Cynthia Chinwo, Oziomo Abajuo and Chigozie Evans as the four suspects.
“Of all the suspects arrested, Alhaji Hassan Welewa, the Traditional Ruler of Allu Community, has been indicted by intelligent information as one of the chief instigator, who encouraged the mob to kill and burn those four innocent young men,’’ he said.
Twenty-one people have so far been arrested and the IG of police has ordered an inquest into the alleged involvement of policemen and have promised to bring to book any officer found involved in the killing
